Christmas decor

In a previous post I teased about christmas decor to come..well it's here!! What do you think?!
After the wedding we had tons of burlap left over and I wasn't sure what to do with it..then I had a ' A Ha!' moment and thought pillows! And since I was working on christmas Poinsettias came to mind!

Okay..more burlap but after the BOO wreaths success and the endless amount from the wedding I couldn't resist a christmas one!

Oh! And another teaser..cute christmas "gift wrap" on the way!..

Until next time..from my kitchen table..

Cute Pumpkin Place Cards

While visiting with my mother-in-law about Thanksgiving dinner I volunteered to make the place cards for the table. She mentioned that she may use a pumpkin themed centerpiece and I instantly had several ideas in my head. I thought about making regular place cards from antiqued paper and pinning them to a mini pumpkin but quickly realized, that isn't what I do! I make sweet crafts from paper (for the most part) and had seen an idea while researching wedding decor in September..this is my spin on the idea that I had seen.

It's so easy anyone can make these and they would make not only great place cards but fun favors as well!
To get started you will need:
-Paper in orange and green
-Ruler
-Paper Cutter
-Pencil
-Pipe Cleaners
-Hole punch, I used a 1/8" diameter

To get started measure, mark and cut 13 5"x3/4" strips of orange paper. Punch a hole at both ends about 1/4" from the end. Then lay on top of each other aligning holes and thread through pipe cleaner. Make a small loop or knot at the end of the pipe cleaner, this will be the bottom of your punkin. Thread long end of pipe cleaner through the holes on the other end of the stack. It will be shaped like a 'U'.

Create another loop at that end to insure it keeps its shape.
Cut out a couple leafs from your green paper. I free handed mine but you could use a leaf stamp too.

Thread the leaves onto the pipe cleaner. Wrap pipe cleaner around pencil to create curls. Then fan out the strips to make the pumpkin. Then sit back and enjoy the cute pumpkin you've created!

Once again I hope you've enjoyed this sweet little craft created at my kitchen table!

It's getting to be that time of year again!

First off I have to say; I'm that person that doesn't decorate for a specific holiday until we're in the month the holiday happens and that sadly I don't think Thanksgiving gets a fair shake! Almost as soon as halloween is over we're onto Christmas..with that being said I still can't seem to get christmas off my mind and am busily working on some new ideas for christmas decor. But trust me I won't decorate with them until December! Keep stopping on by to see what creative yumminess comes from my kitchen table!

Fun Kids (or adult) christmas card using buttons!

This is my first post actually explaining how to make something so I hope I don't forget anything! If you need help just ask!

To make this card you'll need craft paper in blues and orange, 3 white buttons  in different sizes, scissors, glue or glue dots, and bakers string or what ever you'd like to use for the scarf.
First cut your paper in the size and shape you want your card to be. I chose to make mine square.
Then cut out your "snow" in another blue color.

Next you'll take your three buttons and glue them to your paper in the shape of the snowman body, I used glue dots. Then cut out a little nose and glue that on. The buttons I used had 4 holes so I covered the bottom two so they had what looked like eyes.

After that you'll take your string and tie a knot leaving a little loop at the end and glue it to your snowman just under his head. Now he has a scarf!

I had glittered snowflake stickers I added for a little flair. You can embellish with what ever you'd like.

All you need is to write your sentiment in the inside and it's ready to be sent! I hope you and yours enjoy this cute little card! Until next time..from my kitchen table...
